Changing Attributes
There are several ways to change the value of a node attribute:
- Numeric values: If an attribute has a numeric value, you can change that value by clicking the current value to open a mini dialog with a text field and a parameter dial. Enter the new value by either typing in your desired value or clicking and dragging the parameter dial to "scrub" the value up and down.
- Color: If an attribute has a colored box next to it, you can click the colored box to open a Color Picker. Position your cursor above your desired color and click it to change the attribute's color. Clicking the small colored box in the upper right of the Color Picker opens your operating system's Color Picker, allowing you to enter numerical color values, giving you precise control over the selected color.
- Checkbox: If a checkbox appears next to an attribute, you can enable it by checking the box and vice-versa.
- Pull-down menu: Some attributes have a pull-down menu, allowing you to select one of several predefined values for that attribute. To make your selection, click the arrow to the left of the current value to open the pop-up menu, then click your desired value.
- Multiple values: Some attributes require more than one value (such as a point attribute, which requires values for the point's X, Y, and Z location). In this case, the word "value" appears next to the attribute. Clicking the word "value" opens a text field allowing you enter all of that attribute's required values.
- Files: Some attributes require files as values (such as image maps). Clicking the current value opens a Browse dialog, allowing you to locate your desired file.
- Direct Connection: If none of the above items appears next to an attribute, that attribute can only be modified by connecting a node. Please refer to Creating & connecting nodes for more information on connecting nodes.
