Introduction to the tutorials

Welcome to the tutorial section of the Lush Web Site. The tutorials have been designed to be easy to read and follow, and to be concise. If you find that a tutorial isn't very clear, easy to follow, or has got it's facts wrong, please let me know privately at marc@bgc.ac.uk. In fact, if the tutorial is factually incorrect, please mail me as soon as possible so that I can correct it.

As a whole, the tutorials are designed to take the reader from no knowledge of assembly language programming, through to their first program on the gameboy and beyond.

Whilst working through the tutorials, relax, and just read the text. The tutorials have been designed to remove as much of the complexity of assembly language as possible. Don't worry if something doesn't make sense at first, complete the section you are reading, and go back and read it again if neccessary. If after a couple of reads it still doesn't make sense, then the tutorial is at fault, and I would appreciate you mailing me to identify the section at fault.

Tutorial format

Each tutorial is organised in the same way. A tutorial is broken down into the following sections:

Title :The title of the tutorial.
Overview :A brief overview of what the tutorial covers.
Audience :Who the tutorial is aimed at.
Requirements :What requirements must be met before working through the tutorial. This covers any hardware, software, data files, knowledge, and anything else that is required.
Objectives :What specific things the tutorial aims to teach the reader.

On a final note, have fun with the tutorials, and please let me know of any problems, or ideas for new tutorials.

Marc
