PLAYER ACTIONS Here is the list of all the moves you can do with a player or a keeper. This is the explanation when to perform the move and/or what is the effect of doing it. There are standard moves by which you control a player like volley kick, overhead kick, banana shot, diving header, passing, Romario power attack and sliding tackle. Also there are moves that you can do with a keeper like drop kick, throwing the ball and special control. But moves like slamming the ref. and juggle with ball, you can only do it in special situations such as getting a red card, taking a free kick or doing nothing for a few seconds. * Volley kick - this kick is done when the ball is going in your direction and just a second before you get the ball, if the ball is just under the ground, you can do volley kick; power and speed of the ball is much greater and you can easily score a goal with this shot * Overhead kick - this kick is done when the ball is going in your direction and the ball is behind you, just a second before you get the ball, if the ball is in the air, you can do overhead kick; often used to clear the situation in your defense area or to score great goals * Banana shot - used especially when kicking the ball into the corners of the net to score some great goals; also used when taking the free kicks, penalties and corners * Diving header - this kick is done when the ball is going in your direction and the ball is in front of you, just a second before you get the ball, if the ball is in the air, you can do diving header * Passing - with this you can easily go from defending to the attacking position and when you approach near goal area, you can do volley kick, overhead kick or diving header * Romario power attack - when you are chased by opponent, use this attack and you will get extra speed and power and possibility to go behind the defense; also you can use it when you want to take the ball away from dangerous situations or you want to take the ball away from the opponent; you only have one power attack in the game and you will know that by looking to player's yellow number under his head * Sliding tackle - if you want to stop the opponent you do sliding tackle and kick the ball away from him; some hard tackles will leave a mark on the pitch; sometimes the opponent will get free kick and you will be warned or booked by ref. if you kick opponent's legs; don't try it to often or there will not be any player left to play for your team because the ref. is very aware of the new FIFA rules * Slamming the ref. - if you hold fire while getting a red card, you will then slam the ref. and he will go down for a few seconds; very useful to tell your opinion about sending off * Joggling with ball - when you don't take a free kick, corner, penalty, ... after 20 seconds player starts to joggle with ball; player is bored when you are slow * Keeper throwing the ball - throwing the ball is the best way to give the ball to the nearest player on the field; if the keeper throws the ball over opponent, he can then try to do overhead kick * Keeper special control - if your player gives the ball to the his keeper, he won't be able to take the ball in his hands because it will be a free kick; in that case you can control the keeper; for example you can start to dribble opponent and go to attack and maybe even score a goal with a keeper!; after you kick the ball, the keeper will go back to his normal position * Player energy bar - player who has got number above his head is controlled by human/computer player. This is usually the closest player to the ball. After calling substitution/swap/change tactics (see below) above every players head is energy bar representing total statistics for the player. If it is to low, maybe is time to substitute him. 3.4. COMPUTER AI Computer AI is very complex. Here are some useful pointers: Computer uses total statistics and player statistics when playing the game (try Brazil vs. Albania) * If two computers play each other and view computer is turned off, computer also calculates scores between two computers in cup/league/tournament using total statistics and player statistics * If computer leads with two goals, he chooses defense tactics * if computer trails one goal deficit, he changes to attack tactics * If computer trails two goal deficit, and the game is near the finishing, computer will switch tactics to goalie fwd taking goalkeeper to play; if you are lucky enough to lead two goals, this is time to use high kicks and long balls 3.5. BIG SCREEN It is a screen with a score, time and expelled players; you see who is playing, what is the score, how much time is game going on and names and time of players who are expelled from the game; the big screen will appear after a few seconds while taking a free kick, corner, penalty, after goal, ... 3.6. CHANGE TACTICS Depending of the game, you'll want to change tactics of your team. If there is a foul, throw in, corner, penalty or free kick, You must pull the joystick or press keys in any direction twice: up, down, left or right. Then press fire. You will then get new window with bench. The coach on the bench will have speech bobble with different text. With directions up and down choose tactics you want and press fire. After that the tactics will change. 3.7. SUBSTITUTIONS Option to substitute players during game is useful if your player is too tired, or when you want to improve your attack, defense or middle play or you don't like how particular player is playing his role. If there is a foul, throw in, corner, penalty or free kick, You must pull the joystick or press keys in any direction twice: up, down, left or right. Then with left and right direction choose the player on the field. After you decide what player to change, press fire. You will then get new window with bench. The coach on the bench will have speech bobble with different text. With directions left and right choose player and press fire. In the bottom section of the window you will have name and number of the player you want to substitute from the field. Any player you select will stand and his name will be written in the bottom section of the window. When you decide which player will enter the game, press fire and the player will take his position. Then you can continue to play with new player on the field. 3.8. SWAPING Swaping the positions of the players is very useful when you want to improve your attack, defense or middle play or when you can't substitute players anymore. For example, you can swap your player from the middle position, who's got a power attack or hasn't been injured, with player in the attack position, who hasn't got extra ability (power attack, speed, ...) or has been injured. In that case players from the attack have more chances to score but you must be careful because then you have weaker middle play. If there is a foul, throw in, corner, penalty or free kick, You must pull the joystick or press keys in any direction twice: up, down, left or right. Then with left and right direction choose the player on the field. After you decide what player to swap, press fire. You will then get new window with bench. The coach on the bench will have speech bobble with different text. With directions up and down choose option 'swap' and press fire. After that choose another player from the field with left and right direction and press fire. The players will swap their positions. 3.9. STATISTICS After first half and after the final whistle, you will have following statistics: RESULT, SHOTS ON THE GOAL, CORNER KICKS, RED CARDS, PENALTIES, FOULS and BALL POSSESION (in percentage). 3.10. ANIMATED SITUATIONS These animated situations are happening in special cases. This means, for example if player scores a goal then starts the animation of player's celebration. You haven't got control over the situation. That means that you can't start to celebrate with keyboard or joystick controls, but it will start automatically. In some cases you can stop animation and continue to play, but in some can't. In options menu you can change animation's button on/normal/none. If you select on (default), you'll have all special animation's (player taking the statue, girl kissing, ...). If you select off, you won't see these special animation's. * Player celebrating - when you score a goal, player who scores the goal starts to celebrate along with a couple of other players; they will jump, move around, do 'GIVE ME FIVE' stuff, kiss, ... they do that for a few seconds or until you press fire. * Player's Roger Milla dance - special kind of dance which player performs when scoring a goal. * Player taking the statue - he gets the statue after the final game and then he kisses it; big moment for every player. * Player kissing official girl - when the final game ends and starts the winner ceremony, official girl kisses the best looking player in the wining team. * Player being interviewed - in the final game, just before start, player gives an interview to a reporter usually predicting the score of the final. * Player returning to game - when the doctor takes care of his injury, after he is ready to play, he waits to ref.'s signal to come on to continue to play. * Keeper sliding tackle - when the player comes near the keeper, he does sliding tackle in player's legs and take the ball; if the player is very good, he can dribble the keeper and score a goal in empty net. * Ref. giving cards - ref. gives red or yellow card if you tackle from behind, depends on the fact if you have been booked before; ref. does not just listen to explanations, he also makes notes (bookings), so watch out! * Ref. talking to players - he do this especially when he is preparing to expel one of the noty players for two or five minutes. * Ref. being knocked down - if the player is not satisfied with ref.'s decision, he probably knocks him down and ref. gets some sleep! * Doctor spraying - if the injury is easy to cure, then he sprays it and the player continues to play. * Doctor calling stretchers - if the injury is very bad, doctor calls stretchers and go of the field. * Doctor picking things from bag - looking especially for spray. * Stretcher's guys - they come to the field, after being called by doctor, and very gently put the injured player on the stretchers and take him of the field. * Official boy giving statue - after the final game, the official boy comes to the field along with official girl and gives the statue to the best player of the final. * Official girl kissing players - she gives a kiss to the best looking player of the winning team (happens in final). * Reporter doing interview - before an important match (usually final match), he does the interview with one of the players from each side looking for a possible result of the match. * Photographer taking photos - he takes a photo of whole team. * Introduction show - show maybe starts if big teams are involved or it is a final game; first comes one team and a photographers take a photo of whole team, then one of the players gives a interview to reporter and finally players take their positions; after that comes another team and ceremony repeats. * Final celebration show - this show occurs only after the final game has been played; winning team waits for officials, gets from them a statue and makes funny jumps.
